Multipurpose Grease
Description
Castrol Spheerol™ EPL is a range of lithium greases formulated with highly refined mineral oils, enhanced by extreme pressure additives as well as corrosion and rust inhibitors. The additive package delivers optimal film strength under medium to high load conditions.
Application
Spheerol EPL series are general-purpose greases suitable for plant-wide lubrication. The product portfolio covers NLGI 3 multi-purpose greases for general bearings, as well as NLGI 00 semi-fluid greases (refer to the dedicated specification sheet), which are designed for centralised lubrication systems and grease bath gearboxes. These greases provide excellent rust and corrosion protection together with water washout resistance, making them particularly suitable for equipment operating under humid conditions.
NLGI 3 grade grease has higher consistency, suited for lubricating vertically mounted bearings and components exposed to severe vibration. Its outstanding corrosion resistance and water washout resistance also make it an ideal choice for equipment running in wet environments.

Additional Information
To minimise incompatibility risks when switching to this new grease, remove as much of the old lubricant as possible before commissioning. During the initial hours of operation, closely monitor re-lubrication intervals to confirm the previous grease has been fully purged.
